Hi, I have been a moneydance used for a while now, and find myself helping to convert others from quicken to moneydance. All goes well except for one area, the downloaded transaction process. Most get hungup on the confirm/merge operation for whatever reason. They eventually get it (its not that hard) but i think one thing you could do would be to not to let people select older, already settled transactions as a merge option. this seems to be the biggest sticking point, especially amongst older people. They see the merge suggestions and they click it even though it has already been settled.

Also, i find myself always saying 'new/existing' instead of 'confirm/merge'. that also seems to help people along much faster.

thanks for reading!

    Hello,

Thanks for your suggestion. Some of what you describe may already be possible with a settings adjustment. Go to File -> Preferences from the Moneydance menu bar (or Moneydance -> Preferences if you're on a Mac), and in the Network tab, change the setting for "Only match downloaded transactions when they are at most ### days apart." You can change this number to a smaller range that seems more reasonable to you for transaction matching. Personally I find this works fine at 5 days, but that depends on how long it takes your financial institutions to process transactions. This won't necessarily eliminate similar previously downloaded transactions from coming up, but would reduce the range of transactions that show up that it may not be a significant issue, unless you are making multiple identical transactions just days apart.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance,
