Split Changing total amount
It would be a huge help if when applying a memorized split or even when manually entering a split it didn't have the ability to change the total.
Example I have a split of groceries - if the total is an even number, works fine. If the total is an odd number, applying the split changes the total to an even number because the split is an even split. This causes a nightmare on reconciliation with the credit card.
Quicken holds firm on the downloaded/main amount and gives the extra penny to the second category in the split or when manually entering a split, it'll show an uncategorized amount for the remainder in the split.

Could you give me an update if this will be addressed?

just a user
MD is based on accounting principles, so all "pennies" must add up. I don't think that MD works on a half penny basis (except in securities), so if you spent 30.19, you have to allocate 30.19, not 15.10 twice and expect it to stay 30.19
Hope that helps (even if the answer isn't what you wanted to hear).
So the answer is even if the split is "even" - it really isn't the total is 30.19 and you allocate 15.10 to one category, and 15.09 to the other.

Understood - not looking for half penny accounting, more interested in not changing the downloaded total.
Quicken assigns the +1 penny to the last entry when applying a memorized split to keep the total right.
MD changes the total amount to an even number to fit the 50/50 split. That is not helpful behavior.

Concur with this suggestion. MD seems to focus on re-calculating the total as the sum of the splits -- but when a total has already been entered or downloaded, keep it un-changed and if necessary leave an uncategorized split row for us to sort out.
