I'm not sure what you mean with your first suggestion. Moneydance has the ability to automatically post on the date or x days before that date but it also has the option to only post when you determine i.e. to select to apply the transaction.

Moneydance automatically saves the data about every 20 seconds, it is not doing a save on close (apart from any outstanding data and performing automatic backups if set). If you want to do a forced save you can use the keyboard shortcut S ( S on a Mac).

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/497044422022-01-22T15:47:02Z2022-01-22T15:47:02ZSave and Reminders

Hello,

On the second issue, the previous post is correct in that Moneydance saves your data as you work. You should not need to quit the program to save it, although this will of course also trigger a final save before shutting down.

On the first issue, I wonder if you've set up a transaction reminder with the auto-commit option checked? This would automatically put that transaction in your register at the specified time. It sounds like you perhaps don't want this option checked. This would have the reminder appear in the upper right corner of your Summary page as the due date approaches. Clicking on that reminder will bring up another dialogue where you can first modify exact details of the transaction before choosing to record it. This sounds like what you are asking for, but let us know how this isn't meeting your needs if you're describing something different.

Thanks for your info. That pretty well answers my questions. I appreciate the insights. Just trying to get use to MoneyDance. I like the program and use it quite a bit, getting used to it.

Thanks again,
