Hello Stu,
Could not find a dedicated thread for this subject - so created this one.

On the extension "List Future Reminders", is it possible to add an option to delete a reminder ?

When accounts are zeroed and closed - reminders remain. The extension helps search/filter for associated reminders. Double click takes you to an entry screen. Right click provides option to edit the reminder. But it would help if an option to delete the reminder was also available.

Done. Latest PREVIEW with the right-click delete reminder option is available on my site (under the previews section).

thanks - installed. Works like a charm.

    A few things noticed:

-- on opening the extension, please throw focus into the search field.

-- searched for an outdated reminder. Found 2 instances - for two different dates ( which is accurate). Right clicked on one of them and deleted. However, BOTH reminders got deleted. Basically, all related reminders ( past and future ) gets deleted. This took me by surprise - but guess this is normal and by design 'cos there is an option to skip prior transactions in the entry screen. Suggestion is to change the warning to alert the user. Perhaps something along the lines of ALL RELATED / LISTED REMINDERS WILL BE DELETED. ARE YOU SURE.... Y/N ?

Both changes made.. Latest preview is uploaded to my site.

FYI - There is only ever one reminder for a reminder... What's shown on the LFR screen are calculated future versions.. They do not exist. Hence, when you delete a reminder (by clicking on any row), you are deleting the single existing reminder and also therefore removing the calculated future dated rows (that do not exist).

    Hello Stu.
What is the latest version of this LIST FUTURE REMINDERS extension ? I am currently on build 1023 ( as shown on the MENU->ABOUT page.

However, this extension opens and no longer works as expected. Searching would filter results - but nothing happens now. This has been working well for a while - and the only change I've made is to install the lastest CUSTOM BALANCES extension build 1022.

Please could you have a look and advise.

What happens if you type into the filter and press enter?

    nothing happens - unforunately.
restarted moneydance - and no change
funny enough - at times - scrolling the mouse and the list shortens. But does not show the intended result.

Odd issue that. I don't know what caused the issue to appear.. Anyway, I think I have fixed it. Grab latest PREVIEW build 1024 from my site:

oh! - so you could replicate it i guess ? Phew!.. I had to almost conclude this is the Moneydance apocalypse of sort !! I restarted my machine more than once, I uninstalled custom balances and reinstalled it ( got the balances back - which is great ) and still the same. Strange enough - the search and filter on the mega search etc continued to work fine without a hitch.

I will install this build 1024 and will update asap

    yipee yay yeh... !
the 1024 has fixed it. Without this, I would have gone all cross eyed looking for my accounts and reminders from the list. Appreciate that very much mate. Still desperate to see this in moneydance dashboard/accounts..etc.. but thats a moneydance issue spanning so many years now.

PS. I guess no chance to include (perhaps automate) the build number in the text on your site..

No, I don't want build numbers on preview builds as they change all the time...

I suspect the filter broke when I included the ability to save/restore table sort orders, and I suspect that you were not already running this feature and thus hadn't seen the issue...

    @ Stuart..
    Thank you once again.
Apologies for the 'Stu' reference. I thought I had seen the name Stu
mentioned somewhere.. but it could be me mixing this with another colleague
by name Stu Bluth ( also Stuart ) from the old days.

If I mistakenly make reference to it again ( when responding in a rush )
please accept my sincere apologies.. but I will surely attempt to correct
    it.

    Thanks again

    Hello Stuart...
Kindly refer to the extension LIST FUTURE REMINDERS.

I have a lot of pending reminders that I needed to clean out. I selected one of many pending reminders - right clicked on it and tried out the SKIP NEXT OCCURRENCE OF ALL REMINDERS.

I guess I should have pondered a bit - as my expectation was that all the future reminders for that SELECTED reminders would be removed. Shit happens I suppose.. and it looks like all my reminders have now gone out.

    Meanwhile:

    1. Can I un-do the skip on the reminders. If yes, please advise how.
    2. Perhaps good to have a "skip future reminders for selected reminder only" option available.

    Thanks

First of all, sounds like you need to try edit/undo.. When that does not work, then restire last backup and UNTICK retain sync settings.. This extension was made before I knew how to use the MD undo/redo system - sorry.

    I will ponder your request...

The clue is in the question... I note that it does double-check and ask you again!! 😉

Sounds like we also need a :"Skip next occurrence of THIS reminder" option too?

Thanks - but moneydance's EDIT->UNDO does not work here.

Will avoid last restore as I did update a few other transactions that i cannot recollect anymore ( although I did not understand the UNTICK RETAIN SYNC SETTINGS bit.. i guess thats an option availabe during restore ? What does it do - in relation to this issue ? )

The problem I feel is the right click menu. When I right click on a selected item, then it is user expectation that the right-click-context-menu is related to that selection only ( pls note we are unable to select multiple reminders ).

This is the list of option in that right-click-context-menu:
     1 Edit reminder
2 Run Auto Commit Reminders NOW
     3 Edit last Acknowledged date
     4 Record next occurrence
     5 Show reminders raw details
     6 Delete reminder
7 Record all next occurence(s) for same day
8 Record all next occurence(s) for same month
9 Skid next occurence of ALL reminders

I feel items 9 should definitely not be in this menu - and should be included perhaps in the main MENU for future reminders ( top left menu ). Perhaps same also for item 2, 7 and 8 also.

Instead, yes, good to have these in the right-click-context-menu:
     - "Skip next occurrence of THIS reminder"
     - "Skip all future occurrences of THIS reminder until <date>""

(Yup. As I guessed, the undo wouldn’t work)

The retain sync settings does this.
    - restore file - reapply ALL more recent changes on top

Hence you end up where you started. If you actually want to restore and NOT apply more recent changes then you have to untick.

    OK, all good points:

    • I have restructured the menu

    • added skip this reminder option

    • NOT removed the skip all (but I have moved to the bottom)

    • Changed skip all option to a) double-check, b) enable the MD undo/redo system for this change

PREVIEW build 1033 is available on my site:
    https://yogi1967.github.io/MoneydancePythonScripts/

Can you grab and confirm it's OK?

    Thanks

Hi. Just installed. 'Skip all' looking good - thanks.

PS. Just realised there was an update previously for 'FUTURE REMINDERS' and 'CUSTOM BALANCES' - but somehow I was not aware / alerted.

Updates to extensions are not usually alerted, you need to go to manage extensions/updates and look every once in a while.

Also, I would typically make a post if I felt the upgrade(s) were significant for others… otherwise they are probably minor changes for specific users/reasons.
