Single line mode
When you change the registry to be in single line mode would it, or is it possible to have the memo and description box side by side? in Two line mode they are above and below each other. But in single line mode you only get one of them and there is plenty of room to have the other box nest to it.

What you describe may work on a large screen, it would not be practical on a small screen laptop.
In single line mode, with the line in the registry made active, try hitting the ALT key, this will temporarily reveal the contents of the 2nd line. I find this undocumented feature quite useful.
