No Merge Option for Transactions in "Bank Register" under Investments (Switching to Fidelity CMA)
So I've recently switched to a Fidelity CMA as our primary bank account as it is paying much more interest than most online and brick and mortar banks.
The CMA account is only downloadable as an "investment" account, and there is a Bank Register view, but it seems quite barebones compared to what is available for true bank accounts.
For example, it seems the "Merge" option is completely absent for investment accounts under "Bank Register." Could this be implemented? If not, why not?
Thank you!

just a user - You are correct that there is no merge option for investment accounts.
There has been discussion of implementing this for years, but the usual answer is that investment accounts are significantly different than bank/credit card accounts.

I see, thanks so much. That is definitely not ideal...

So, for reference of future persons in the same situation, I've gone ahead and created an account of "Asset" type named "Fidelity CMA Receivable." Whenever I have a transaction I want to apply to the Fidelity CMA, I instead label it as going to "Fidelity CMA Receivable" account. Similarly, whenever that transaction is downloaded to my Fidelity CMA account, I label it as coming from "Fidelity CMA Receivable" account. That way, I just have to periodically make sure that the "Fidelity CMA Receivable" account is 0 and this takes care of having duplicate transactions if same transaction (two sides of it) is downloaded both to Fidelity CMA account and to another of my accounts (e.g., bill payment to credit card, overdraft from Fidelity Brokerage, etc.).
