Keep account cursor/scroll position when choosing time range filters or clearing search field

I'm filing a new suggestion which could be a dupe of this 2013 request.

The two use cases which show this issue here are:

  • when using the default and custom filter options above the transaction register
  • when clearing the text search field

I typically use the default 30 & 60 day plus a custom 90 days filter in the register to make navigation and usability easier. From there, choosing larger time views such as "This Year" and "All" will jump back to the beginning of the year and the beginning of time for the account, respectively, thus losing my current scroll position and hiding the selected transaction (if any) from view. For example, choosing "All" jumps me back to 2014 in one of my accounts, years of transactions away from where my cursor currently is, requiring me to scroll back to where I was to resume my work.

This same undesired scroll behavior happens when clearing the Moneydance transaction search field: the scroll position jumps to the earliest possible transaction given the current time-range filter selected.

I would much prefer that Moneydance keep the user's current cursor scroll position intact when choosing new time filter options and just make the additional transactions available for scrolling/searching, not forced into view.

Thank you for your consideration.

Re-opening this, hopeful to hear from a Support staff member that the request has been read.
