default location in register - set it to bottom of the register

I can't quite put my finger on the exact steps (because I think there are multiple scenarios/steps that lead to this result), but very often when I'm doing certain activities I'll end up at somewhere other than the bottom of the register, i.e. the top or the middle)... so I have to scroll all the way down to get to the most recent transactions.

Here's one example: I'm in my Savings account and use the filter to zero in on all of the paychecks from my employer. When I finally hit the X (at the right side of the filter box) to clear out the filter and show all transactions I end up in the middle of all of the transactions in that account (in my case it's dumping me into the middle of transactions for 2015).

At other times I end up at the very top of the register. Obviously I can scroll down but I'd bet that 99.999% of the time everyone needs/wants to be at the bottom of the register.

If there's some default register location that is read when a screen refreshes or a filter is cleared I think it should be set to move to the botttom of the register.

    Hi gbonawitz,

This is totally non-intuitive, but try this...

When you are thrust into no-mans-land of your register, click twice on the 'Split Window' button, just to the right of the 'New Transaction' button in the upper right-hand corner of the register. Doing so will bring you to the bottom of the register.

Obviously, this only pertains to those registers with the 'Split Window' button. For others, highlight any transaction and tap the 'End' key on your keyboard.

Thanks Kevin. That is a valid mitigation that I'll try to remember, but I think it's a little unnecessary friction to have to do that ;-)
