Archiving

It would be useful to have the ability to close off a file at the end of the financial year and change categories for the ensuing years without losing the data for the relevant historical categories, whilst carrying forward the balances etc for others.

Having sold an investment property and also moved to a different type of residence, it would be useful to archive related data and not clutter the ongoing system with the former categories.

It's not clutter, it's history. simply mark older items/accounts/investments as inactive. then you're done. Seriously, why would you discard such data?

Thanks for that. Simply looking to "clean up" the current data.
