MAC APP-Text Editing

2024-0917 MAC OS-Sonoma....Can the Moneydance data and archive files be somehow exempted from the MAC APP "Text Editor", when changing the names of data files? The "Text Editor" changes the data file and disguises(?( it as a ".TXT" extension. The original data file cannot be found anywhere?

    I’m sorry but I do not understand. Why are you using the text editor anywhere near the moneydance dataset files? They are encrypted, so can’t be read anyway?
