In two-line mode, the form is laid out:
Description | Category
Memo | Tags
When you go to do a split, the layout is
Memo | Category
uneditable | Tags
In addition, the Memo of the first entry is set to the Description of the parent. This is a bit confusing. I think it would be better if the splits were laid out like the parent transaction:
uneditable | Category
Memo | Tags
When splitting a transaction for the first time, the Memo field of the parent transaction should be what is copied to the Memo field of the first split. I think that would make the interface more consistent.

2024-1202... I agree +. RE: MD 2024.2 (5172) on a Mac.
The Transaction's Split's details/info is confusing.
The split transaction's details, should be display in the same order/manner as the original transaction's details. The user should enter data once, and it should be the first line of a spli transaction. Then with subsequent splits-either..accept same details or type/change the details in any added/successive splits.
Also, I find sometimes the total of the splits is updated & displayed, and sometimes not. Would like to view/see the total of the spirits updated each time a split trans amount is entered, to be sure of the correct total $amount of the transaction.
