Right now, filtering an account only allows for filtering by All Transactions, Unconfirmed, Uncleared, 30 Days, This Month, This Year, and Custom Filter (Last X Days, or Since X Date).

I'm a little behind on my current reconciliation, and to make sure I have everything recorded for the period I would like to be able to filter by Between Date1 and Date2 and Before X Date (These would also be very useful for tax reporting purposes).

It would also be nice if there were a checkbox so a chosen filter would persist when switching from one account to another, instead of each account having its own setting.

    just a user,

Remember you can always use the Find and Replace Extension to filter transactions as desired, mark all with a Tag, then run reports using that Tag. In that way you can produce reports that would be impossible to produce with MD's standard options.

That sounds interesting, I never thought of doing that! I don't suppose you would give an example scenario?

    just a user,

Sure, You will need the Find and Replace Extension. Extensions, Manage Extensions, Install Find and Replace.
Then using Find and Replace, set the date range, accounts, and any other filter as needed and click Find. Now on the top right in the Replace section, Click Modify Tags, Add Tag, Enter unique Tag name you want. Click Replace All, (You will now see the new Tag added to the results.) If all looks good, then click Record to make the changes. Now you can pull up your reports and add your new Tag to the search parameters as needed. Once you see how that works, you can see how you can run reports with any filter you could set with Find and Replace. Also, If you want to do some fancy searching with Find and Replace you can use Regular Expressions in the free Text field. But its a bit too cryptic for most. and MD does not have any documentation on it outside of any provided with the Extension.
