nesting reports

I know it's been asked for before - back in 2021 - but MD could really do with a better way of controlling reports.
Folders, to allow types or years, for example, would be really helpful. At the moment they all just fill up the side bar and are difficult to manage; it's easy to forget what a report was called. It's just messy having dozens of reports in a single list.

    2025-0401… I find the current Report creation system adequate…
    I select a Report, i,e, P&L and set the parameters (Dates, Accounts, Categories. Etc.) and generate the Report. Then I memorize it with a Report Name to be used over & over, just needing to edit the date-period for this Report’s period you want.
    I.e. Names used for created Reports, then memorized……
    MD P&L All Categories-Person Name
    MD P&L-All Categories Details-Person Name
    MD Account Balances, Person Name
    MD P&L Details-Tax Categories-Person Name
    ========
    These memorized Reports are then listed alphabetically.
    See “Tools/Graphs & Reports/Memorized Reports==
    …….
    If you want to save-memorize Reports by some chronological date order, then use the date first in the name of the Memorized Report.
    I.e. 2025-0331 MD P&L All Categories-Person Name… (Year order)
          0331-2025 MD P&L All Catefories-Person Name …(Month order)
    Test memorizing your Reports created, close Reports, then go back to see the list of memorized Reports you saved.
    This should easily, help in generating time-period Reports you need.
    Sure hope this answers your concerns.

    Whilst I understand all you say (and, indeed, is basically how I currently do things) it's not really a solution. When you have multiple accounts (8 in my case) over multiple years (since 2008) and you want to keep quick access monthly and yearly reports for all accounts (separate reports for income and expense plus joint income and expense) to all those accounts/years you very soon end up with a nightmare scenario. How do you label them all. Sure, date first but then what? Account name or month first? What about annual reports. Having nesting folders would make things so much simpler. You wouldn’t store all your files in one folder, you'd create sub folders for sorting.
    If it works for you, great, but I find it messy and a weak spot in an otherwise great product.
