User interface issues

Some minor user interface issues I've run into:

1. some things, like the description, will auto fill correctly when I type a letter or two, using the case of the previous matching description. In the Tags field however, while it will bring up the right matching tag, if I use the wrong case, it will enter it with the wrong case, creating a duplicate tag

2. The tag field does not always bring up a matching tag; I think it's looking for a previous transaction, when it should be looking at the tag list, although even when there's a recently added transaction, it doesn't find it. maybe I have to restart moneydance? that makes sense if the tag list is only loaded at the start

3. It's a nuisance to have to click New Transaction every time I switch between accounts - a new transaction space should always be there

#3 is even worse - everytime I go edit a transaction, I have to click New Transaction to be able to go back to adding new ones...

    Hi Alan,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

Which version and build of Moneydance are you using?
To check, open Moneydance and select Moneydance --> About Moneydance

Can you let me know which operating system you're running on your computer?

Can you navigate to Moneydance > Settings/Preferences > General and check if the "Case Sensitive Auto-Completion" feature is selected?

You can usually create a new transaction by pressing ⌘ N.
For more Keyboard Shortcuts, please refer to this article of the Knowledge Base.

Side note: Using the Find and Replace extension you'll set the search fields in the 'Find' panel on the left. Then choose 'Find'. This will display a number of transactions at the bottom of the window.

In the panel on the right, select 'Modify Tags'. Then specify 'Add tags', 'Remove tags', or 'Replace all with', and choose the tag you'd like to use.

Once you've picked the settings you need, choose 'Replace' or 'Replace All' at the bottom of the panel on the right.
If you're happy with the changes press 'Record', then 'Done'.

You should create any tags you want to use before opening the extension. To do this, simply enter the tag into the 'tag' field of any transaction. To add multiple tags to one transaction, just separate them with a comma.
You can find information about tags in this article from the knowledge base.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.
