Year End Categories
Looking at my income and expenses by categories at the end of the year is extremely helpful in many ways including taxes. I was using a ancient version of Banktivity, and it was very easy and straight forward to do that, providing both a graph and data that was easily selectable for easy verification.
Surprisingly, MoneyDance has none of the capability. Just to get a list, involves numerous selections, then the data cannot be selected to reference the entry. Perhaps I can import data created by numerous menu selections into Excel, but that is a pain, and I thought that is what I was paying for when I bought MoneyDance....
I'm very disappointed with the lack of capability in this area, which should be available in any financial software.

@Bill,
It literally took me 5 seconds to create an I & E report based on Last Year.
Individual report entries drill-down to their respective txns with a double-click.

Hello Bill,
I agree, it sounds like the Income and Expenses report is what you are looking for. If that isn't meeting your needs, please let us know what you are trying to display or do that isn't found in that report. It sounds like it has everything you describe.
