When I did text based bookkeeping, I used vim and it was so much fun and easy just inputting all my transactions via HJKL and split windows. If there were a way I could input everything without touching the mouse, this would be a dream. I hate the arrow keys though, it sucks on a Mac, and I prefer HJKL infinitely more (so there should also be a way to adjust the key bindings).

I'll second this - the process of reviewing and accepting downloaded transactions is a constant back-and-forth between the mouse and keyboard. I wish that I could go through my downloaded bank transactions just using the tab key to move fields, keyboard to adjust fields, and enter key to confirm the transaction and also move to the next transaction with the focus set and ready to start modifying it.

Also, the ability to (using arrow keys maybe?) jump from the register to the side-bar so that I can select a similar or merge transactions, again, without needing to use the mouse.

    Thirded.

And when working with securities transactions even when it looks like I can use keyboard to select a specific security it never works. Just goes back to the first one in the list.
