Desktop Integration
I would like to see the ability for MoneyDance to be accessed by shell scripts to display, on the user's desktop, various account information such as pending bills.
I use geektools (ver. 3.0) on a MacPro running OS 10.6.2 to provide computer-based information such as drive information, CPU information, weather, calendars. With some modification to the MoneyDance data file; e.g., place a unique line identifier as the beginning of each line for pending bills, a script could used to request information from the moneydance data file and display it on the desktop.

I'm not an expert here, but as you can display output from any script, it may be easier to use the Moneydance API ( http://www.moneydance.com/dev/apidoc/index.html ) to get what you need rather than parsing the XML...
Just a thought.

Rogers,
This is also a great request to make on the trac forums. Thank you for your thoughtful and clever thoughts for improvements to Moneydance.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, and thank you for your interest in Moneydance.
