MD2012 (Mac) synching problem

I am trying to follow the threads on synching MD2012 (Mac) with Dropbox. The advice to use File>Syncing seems to apply only to Windows version. I am not able to synch my MD2012 Macbook with Dropbox and my iPad/IPhone. Is there a fix or patch for this? Am I doing something wrong? I've downloaded and installed the Extension, but nothing happens.

    The following FAQ link provides a avenue to sync MD2012 (Mac) with Dropbox.
    You will want to follow "Alternate Instruction Set 1" or "Alternate Instruction Set 2" depending upon your willingness to use a terminal window. I suggest using "Alternate Instruction Set 2" if at all possible.
