please bring the HOME PAGE icon back in MD2010
In MD2010, there is no longer a 'Home Page' icon in the top menu bar area. (It used to be next tot he 'Find' icon).
I like working with the new sidebar turned off, because the sidebar takes up too much screen space and doesn't add any functionality. But with the sidebar off, and without a 'Home Page' icon, MD2010 is harder to navigate - to return to the home page, I need to use the account picker in the upper left and scroll to the top of a long list of accounts just to get back home.
Please bring the 'Home Page' icon back to that top menu bar section!

Joe,
Your request does make sense.
Our wiki is integrated with our feature request and bug reporting system. Please feel free to register and use these systems to help improve Moneydance . We now also have voting on all existing tickets, which helps us determine which requests have the most demand.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, and thank you for your interest in Moneydance.

I grudgingly second this idea. I know that the user interface needs to evolve, but being able to get to the home page in one click was pretty integral to my workflow. With the sidebar turned off, you can't do that anymore. I'm admittedly more mouse-driven than keyboard-driven.

John - your mention of mouse-driven vs. keyboard-driven made me wonder if there's a keyboard shortcut to get to the home page. Is there? The online help on keyboard shortcuts doesn't mention any.

In the View menu, it says viewing the homepage can be access with Shift-Cmd-H (on a Mac). I don't really use keyboard shortcuts, though. I'm all about the GUI and the mouse.

Brian - regarding the feature request and bug reporting system that you mention. I am registered (username joe) but when I click 'new ticket', it says 'TICKET_CREATE privileges are required to perform this operation'. Am I supposed to be able to create tickets, or just vote on existing tickets?

Brian, strike that last note about not being able to create tickets. I didn't see the email confirmation step, so now I can create tickets.

Joe,
It is also possible to move the sidebar so that it takes up less space. Command-shift-H is the short-cut.

I am not seeing much extra function from using the new sidebar yet either. It kind of seems nice to be able to see the reports and graphs, but does take up some space. Maybe it will grow on me. Maybe adding expansion/contraction to the sidebar items, like in the home page listings, would help too.

The first thing I did was turn off the side bar, I like my homepage to be as basic as possible. I do miss the Home button, and the Find button while in the register.

I also would like to see the Home Page Icon/Button returned to the top Menu area, as I have mentioned in other posts, I do not see what value the side bar give me so, I hide the side bar.
But maybe look at it from a different angle. Is not the function of a "Home Page" button/Icon suppose to be to bring you back to the beginning of an application/Menu tree and be present at all times? If so, why would it be placed on a side bar, that by its design has the option of being hidden, thus negating the function of the Home button.
If the Home button is place on the side bar why is it even there?
Thanks,
Rod

I too would like the Home icon back on the Home page. Like many of the MoneyDance users posting above, I too turned off the Sidebar, too much screen real estate, and too visually confusing. I tried dragging the home account from the side bar to the top tool bar, but nothing, so I assume that it has been written out of this 2010 version.
I'd like to have it back, and perhaps the ability to add a few other icons that could be designated to other accounts, or other actions, perhaps 4 others.
I also eagerly awaited this upgrade to see if Tags would autofill from the keyboard. It doesn't.

Add me to the list of people who want the Home icon back. Also, I'd like a way of hiding accounts with zero funds from the Sidebar, just as can be done on the Home Page. (Unless there is a way that I've missed).
