Option to hide securities in all lists.
The "Edit Security" dialogue box has an option to show a security on the Home Page, i.e. override the default which is that the security is hidden on the Home Page. This option should be replaced by the option "Hide this security in all lists" which would remove the security from the Home Page and all other lists, including all pop-ups, except the master list in the "Edit Securities" dialogue box where the security would be identified as hidden by being in italics. The "Edit Securities" dialogue box would then also have a button giving the option to "Show Hidden Securities" which would override security hiding when necessary. This is the way Quicken does it, and it is much superior to the current MD situation. Why should MD continue to download prices for stocks I once owned but no longer do? Why should I have to scroll through a long list of all the stocks I ever owned in an account when trying to find the history of a current stock? One needs to keep previously owned stocks in each account's register, but once sold they should be able to be set aside in all lists and pop-ups.

Patrick, sorry to be late in getting back to you.
Here is a enhancement ticket we have for what would be the very useful enhancement that you are suggesting. I would encourage you to go to the link and vote for it: http://moneydance.com/trac/ticket/2593

This would be a great feature. Do you know if it has been implemented? I am new to MD and still on the learning curve.

the feature has not yet been implemented. I have linked the ticket directly to this discussion such that your post counts as a vote for the ticket.
Sincerely
