The WAY too powerful "-" button!!!
I know I've been able to delete a transaction, I just can't remember how. But it led me to an interesting, and a somewhat alarming action that I feel could be slightly changed.
With the transaction highlighted, I searched all the menus for a Delete item. Find none, I decided to try the 'minus' button on the sidebar. WHOOPS! The whole list of transactions disappeared as did the account I had been working in! What? Did I just Delete the whole account?! Well, no, but I didn't find that out by using the menus nor the Help files. I only found out my searching the forums...
The "solution" was easy, just click the 'plus' button... Whew!!!
Now, I'm sure that the developer(s) felt that having those 'plus/minus' buttons ONLY on the Side bar was enough to convince people that it would do nothing to anything in the other part of the window. I really don't think they made its function as powerful and as dramatic as I found it, on purpose. At least I hope not!!! :-)
OTOH, I think it would be extremely helpful to have the 'minus' button "active" or enabled when something in the Side bar is selected. When I clicked it, the only thing selected was a single transaction in the other part of the window. Granted, that transaction was IN the account that got 'deleted' from the Side bar. SO that part was technically correct. It simply wasn't what I expected. Of course, I may be the only one ever to have done what I did. Everyone else may have a perfect understanding of what those two buttons do...but maybe not. It has created at least one thread in the forums...
BTW, I think I remembered the way to actually delete a transaction; simply select it and press the 'delete' key? DOH! ;-)

You can also right click on the transaction to get a pop-up menu from which you can delete.
