Simplify Downloaded Account Category Names

Would it be possible for MD to simplify downloaded transactions category names?

   Hi Chad, What you're describing appear to be descriptions rather than categories. Change the downloaded description to your desired description and MD should 'Learn' it. Subsequent downloads should then offer the changed/desired descriptions as one of the options that you can 'Accept'.

   You are correct.  I was referring to Descriptions.   The 'learn' part would be nice, but even if MD would just strip out the useless numbers/ locations.

   Hi Chad, I don't see how MD could possibly predetermine which data the user deems unimportant without first being told (Learn) or through the use of 'Rules'. I believe that 'Rules' have been mentioned as a feature of future releases. HTH -Kevin N.

   Since MS Money shut down, I've been checking out other software to use.....MD and Mint.com.   All I gave Mint was my checking account log in and now it pulls in only the pertinent description info.  Check it out.....it's free www.mint.com.   I'm not sold on Mint but I like this feature, much cleaner to read.

   We are actually in dialogue with Yodlee (the aggregation service provide who provide tha backend to mint.com) we may well provide the option of using yodlee for transaction downloading for those who do not have direct connect available.
