Auto-fill suggestions improvements

When I import new transactions via OFX, all descriptions are all caps (eg. "MORTGAGE PAYMENT"). I'd rather have "Mortgage Payment". When I try to change the description (only changing the letter case), MoneyDance will suggest to fill the word with caps by default (e.g. "MortGAGE PAYMENT", once I entered "Mort"), even though I have many other transactions saying "Mortgage Payment".

To make things worse, the altered description is not even saved; probably because it only differs in case from the original one. So I first have to change the description to a temporary value, save the transaction, then change the description to the final value, and save again.

Suggestions:
a) Learn corrections that a user makes over and over again, or at least give preference to existing descriptions when making suggestions.
b) Save altered descriptions even if they only differ in case.

Thank you,
Clemens

    Clemens,

Thank you for your suggestions for improvements to Moneydance.

Our feature request and bug reporting system is integrated with our wiki. We invite our users to register and use these systems to help improve Moneydance by bringing bugs to our attention and requesting new features. Users can also vote on tickets, which helps us determine how wide-spread bugs are and which requests have the most demand. I've created a ticket for this request here.

I think the description not saving issue has been resolved in later builds. If you are not using the most recent version (2010r3 build 748), please update to that version. You can download the update here. If the issue continues please let me know, as this is certainly a bug.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance,

    Angie Rauscher
