Getting rid of side bar
I find the side bar to be a nuisance. I suggest adding a way to hide it permanently.

You can use Command ⌘ instead of Control ^ on Mac

This is fixed in build 743 which can be downloaded fomr te link below:
http://moneydance.com/trac/wiki/Moneydance2010Beta
From the view menu you can select "Hide side bar" and the option sticks between restarts.
