Auto-clear transactions on merge
My bank and I are not in synch, I'm always several steps ahead of them. I create transactions for each expenditure from the checking account which can sometimes sit for a week or two before the bank finally catch up to it!
Once I download the transactions from the bank and go through the merge process, I then have to manually "clear" each transaction downloaded (or ctrl-click and batch clear them). Would it be possible for the merge action to optionally "clear" the transaction too? This is extremely useful for people who, like myself, have turned off paper statements and have no real need to "reconcile" the account since this is done automatically with the downloaded transactions. It would allow us to see that the cheque to XYZ corporation has not yet cleared and prompt us to call them to make sure they received it before they send the account to collections! ;) OK, maybe not quite that bad, but you get the picture.
In effect, this would be an option that could be turned on at a user or account level, where if reconcile is disabled, then a merge would put a nice little green check mark on the selected merged transaction

Kevin's on the right track, we use the trac system to register feature requests. We've considered including this feature, and there are some very good reasons to include it, and some very good reasons not to. It's very helpful for us to know how many users would like to see a certain feature added. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance,
