Splits: Memo? and printing splits on check vouchers

Hi there:
Just switched from Quicken 2006, and love MoneyDance's speed and agility as well as support... all of which woefully lacking in Q. Still getting my "sea legs" with MD, of course, but I am missing some features which I hope will be easy to incorporate as MD continues to improve.

Unless I have missed it, I don't see a method of putting memos in each split line of a transaction. Ouch. I just reimbursed an employee for mileage, parking and tolls. I would like the memos for each of these split transactions to read: "168 miles," "May Event Parking," and "May Tolls" in the three splits. I suppose I could use Tags for this, but I would end up with a VERY long tag list.

Also, when I print out voucher checks, these splits, with the (non-existent?) split memos should be on the check vouchers. There is a lot of blank space on those vouchers; I could really use the information.

Oops... A little experience goes a long way. There ARE memo options for the splits, I was confused and am still a noobie.

Printing the splits with their memo/descriptions on the check vouchers is still a function I could really use...

    Hi

There are description fields for splits but not memos. This is an often requested feature and it may make it in in a future release.

I have created a suggestion ticket for printing splits checks. Here is the link to the ticket:

    http://moneydance.com/trac/ticket/2908

If you register and log into trac you can vote on tickets to show your support for them.

I see the description fields in the splits. I don't know the technical difference between descriptions and memos, but the descriptions are plenty. You can even do a Search report on those descriptions.

I missed that the first time around.
