iPhone App Suggestions

I'm relatively new to using your iPhone app. After several weeks using it I have the following suggestions for your iPhone app...

For entering a new transaction I select the account. While I can appreciate having access to viewing past transactions entries... that is not what I want MD for iPhone to do. It's a vehicle to enter new transaction foremost. Secondarily it is used to see what transactions are already entered. With that in mind, when I select a bank account, why not take me to the transaction entry screen directly? Having to click again on + to do that isn't as efficient. Maybe list accounts and have a left-pointing arrow on the left side of the category list to go to past transactions and a right-oointing arrow on the right side of the category list names to go to a new transaction form?

In the new transaction form, when I click the Category button it brings up a scrolling dial list. But bank accounts appear first!! Why? If for transfers... for me those occur far more rarely than category selections. So why not put them at the bottom of the list? I always have to flip the dial multiple flicks to get down to the category names. Better than a dial I have to flip, why not provide a type in field with Auto-fill? That would be faster. Have the list narrow to fewer choices as typing progresses?

Having a way to do splits right from from the first entry form. I shouldn't have to go to another click to get to a more detailed transaction entry form. That's kind of strange in the first place. I'd prefer you have one form only. Do the full form. Splits should handle the math of sub-totals... If I enter the first category and amount for a split, I want the balance to carry forward to the next category entry. I don't want to have to get a calculator out! And if multiple items make up a category subtotal on a receipt, have a way to enter a string of item prices like in Quicken... 23.51+3.97+299 enter should produce that total amount, then carry the leftover amt to the next split category amount.

Add Auto-fill to the Payee entry in the Description text area. Right now in v1.3 that text area doesn't work at all (see my bug report on this in another post.)

Hope this provides valued feedback.

Let me add that the way you do Tags is not efficient. Take a look at how Adobe Lightroom does tagging, or Thinks (the to-do app that is popular on the Mac).
You should be able to type in a tag list, comma separated, each one gets entered into the system. When I later use this app and need to tag a transaction, if I start to type the tag, have it auto-fill based on the list of "used" tags in the system. I don't like having to create a list of tags before hand, to get a menu to select from. I want to tag on the fly.

I have not been able to reproduce the problem you are experiencing with the description entry. v1.3 of the mobile app added auto-fill to this field. can you tell me if reinstalling the iPhone app resolves the issue.

I recently spoke with the developers about the issue of tag entry and they tell me that an improved on the fly tag entry interface is currently under development.
