desktop shortcut icon same graphic file as application icon
Ubuntu Linux 10.10.
The desktop shortcut icon that is extracted from Moneydance_linux_x86.tar.gz, moneydance_icon32.png, is not the same icon that is used by Moneydance to indicate windows in the task manager / panel.
First, the big green M icon is higher quality that the desktop icon provided. Second, if the icon was present outside of the jar file and instead referenced by the application outside of the jar I believe my Mac-OS-X-like panel would correlate the shortcut and application correctly. For normal GNOME/KDE users, I am sure that a consistent icon would be beneficial as well.
My suggestion is to provide the green M icon outside of the jar for reference by the GUI environment, to provide one and the same high-res icon file for the shortcut and application. This is how Firefox and Emacs both work, for example.
