Open to the Register Rather Than Portfolio View

When I want to work with an account, I almost always want the register view. Thus I'd avoid an extra click if clicking on an account on the sidebar would take me directly to the register view.

Rather than adding an option for a default view to open, I'd suggest that you simply return to the last view that was open for that account. That is, you store information on which view the user last accessed, and return to that view when the user selects that account.

    xxTemp,

For all account types other than investment accounts the register view is what comes up when you select the account from the sidebar (or other menus). Are you referring to the view when selecting an account, or when you open your data file?

    Thanks for clarifying,

I'm referring to the investment accounts -- the view that comes up when I
select an investment account from the sidebar.

I would even go one step further and would like an open on the account settings which view I would like as my default.

I'm with Gerd, I'd like the option on how to set the view as well.

Concerning having a setting for this, the disadvantage of that is:

    1. An additional checkbox would be needed on one of the options dialogs (plus documentation, etc.). By remembering which way you left the account, you don't need any additional dialog controls.

    2. Presumably, someone might want to open some accounts to the register, others to portfolio view.

Please add my vote to open investment accounts in the Register view.

    Thanks.

    Best regards,

Either allowing us to set which view to default to for investment accounts, OR remembering the last view, would be improvements in my opinion. I agree with most of the posters here that opening in Register view is what I want to do most of the time.
