Tracking only investment positions

Is it possible to track investment accounts only by the number of shares I have? It's a lot of hassle to track every cash transaction for my 401k, and I really don't need that level of detail. I'd like to be able to just see how much the account is worth.

    Hi Roy,
If you haven't done so already, add each security in your 401(k) plan to your 401(k) account in Moneydance.
Create a Buy txn in Moneydance for each security in your 401(k) plan so that it reconciles with your last quarterly statement.
If your securities have viable ticker symbols, you'll need to input them in order to download daily price quotes.
You should at least transfer you payroll deductions into the 401(k) account when you enter your paycheck.
If you're new to Moneydance look to the Moneydance User Guide
