Add an empty transaction entry line on a register

Coming from MS Money we had a new transaction entry line at the bottom of the register screen. I find that very pratical as I click on any fields and start typing.
In MD I have to first click the new transaction button, then click on the field I want to start entering my data.
Always having an empty line just saves some mouse clicks.

    Hi gerd,
Just FYI... there is a setting in Preferences to 'Auto-create New Transactions' but it only works after you first enter a txn. There's also the keyboard shortcut. Ctrl + N (for Windows)

    Hi Kevin,

I have the auto-create flag already set in my preferences.

Regarding the ctrl-N I just thought it would be easier to always have an empty line on any register.

I am attaching a suggestion ticket with this post. The developers do rely on user suggestions to improve the functionality and utility of Moneydance.

    Hi gerd,
I think I fall into the category of those that wouldn't always want a txn in edit mode when I access a register. There are a lot of times I'm 'just looking'.
I think the best of both worlds would be for it to be offered as an option that the user could choose to either have or not.

    Hi Kevin,

We already have the auto-create flag in the preferences. This should just be extended to always have an empty transaction when set. It should not depend on me entering a transaction first.

    This would resolve the issue.
