Sequence on main screen

When we have a mixture of payments and deposits on the same day, can we please have the deposits showing before the payments. The reason is that if the payments are shown first, then the account can go into the red, only to be solved by the later deposit. If the deposit displays first then it does not appear that the account is going into the red, which it actually doesn't.

Hello,
By the "main screen", do you mean the transaction register for the particular account? In general, transactions in the register sorted by date will be in the order they were entered. Many reports sort transactions in the method you describe, the transactions report for example.

Yes. On the register for my current account, I enter future transactions automatically, up to 45 days ahead, so I can forecast my potential incomings and outgoings. Thus, I am not entering the transactions. Moneydance is doing it for me. For instance, on next Feb 28th I have £200.00 going out which takes me into the red, but also £350 coming in, which means that everything is OK. However when I look at the screen, I see a red figure against Feb 28th,(because the £200 going out is recorded first) so I have to double check what is happening, when in actual fact I will not be going into the red.

If you right click on the register and select "Sort By->Date/Amount" that should put the deposits before the payments in the same day.
