Check order in reconcile window ...
New Moneydance user here ... and very impressed with the product overall. Though I'd used Quicken for over 20 years, I don't miss it a bit.
A quick suggestion/question, following my first use of the reconcile window yesterday. The reconcile window properly displayed my uncleared transactions chronologically ... but on those days when I had written several checks, those checks appeared in reverse numerical order! That seems pretty unintuitive, and led to some minor stumbles. It seems that by default, the reconcile window should have a two-level sort -- first by date, and then by check number.
(Is there a way to accomplish that within the program now?)

You can sort by clicking column heading "Check Number" to arrange by the check number.

The problem with doing that, though, is that it overrides the date sort ... so the day's transactions without a check number get moved all the way to the beginning or end of the list. The ability to sort on multiple fields is really the only solution to this (admittedly minor) problem, and it would be an ability that would prove useful elsewhere in Moneydance, as well.

I agree. MD Support Staff will have to write up a ticket for this functionality.

Jbnyt and Mark,
I agree that having the ability to sort by multiple columns would be a great feature, especially when reconciling. I have created a ticket for this issue. The ticket is attached to this discussion. By posting in this discussion your interest in the ticket has been registered. This is equivalent to voting for it. You will be automatically notified when updates are available on this feature.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance,

Hi all,
Color me embarrassed, because I've just discovered it's possible to do this! To do so, right click and select Sort By. This offers a number of options, including Sort by Date/Status, Status/Check #, and many more! See attached screenshot.
Do let me know if there's another dual sort which is important to you and I'll create a new request ticket.
Thanks for using Moneydance!

Hi, Angie ...
Many thanks for your note. The trick you showed above (which I hadn't been aware of) does work in the main register window, but unless I'm doing something wrong it doesn't seem to work in the reconcile window.
I've figured out that I can work around the particular sort problem I mentioned above by first clicking on the check # header to sort by that field, and then immediately clicking on the date field to make that the primary sort ... the check number will then be a secondary sort.
I do think, though, that it would be nice to have the reconcile windows have a default sort of ascending date/ascending check #.
Thanks again!
