I love the buttons on the top of the register that let you quickly filter the register (30 days, 60 days, etc). One that I would use a lot during tax prep time is to have a "Last Year" button. Last Quarter might also be useful to some.

    Hi dougc,
The Transactions Report can create these Tax Time views. Memorizing the Report creates one click access to the data.

True, but the report is not an interactive register where I can make changes easily. I would still find a "Last Year" button to be helpful in the register.

It's not a big deal I guess, just handy. I have been able to use the Advanced Search to generate a list of transactions and do batch edits directly from that register to get a work-flow that's pretty effective.

    Doug,

There's actually a lovely (and simple) solution to this. In the Search box (upper right hand corner of the register) enter last year (2010). This will cause the register to only display transactions which include the number 2010. It would be great if you could try this and let me know if it meets your needs, or if you think the filter button is still an important feature so I can log the suggestion ticket.

Thanks for your input, and please let me know if I can be of further assistance,

Good idea - it helps a lot. That still picks up transactions which have "2010" in other fields, such as the description, check # or amount, but in general, it works pretty well.

I'd put the request as a very low priority, as I now have several work-flows to choose from to get this functionality. Thanks!
