System Requirements info
I'm a little perplexed about why Moneydance's Web site doesn't include a "System Requirements" section. (I've looked in both the main site and the Support section. If I missed it, then it's well hidden.) I realize the site automatically detects the OS for downloading purposes, but it doesn't detect the Java version. If Java is required to run Moneydance, and some older Java versions are incompatible, it seems like we all would benefit from your telling us which version we are required to have. Why not post a "System Requirements" page with a list of supported OSs and required Java version? Wouldn't that cut down on a lot of support questions? Or is the Java/OS relationship more complex than I appreciate?

Mark,
I believe the answer to your question is that we support all OS's and that you should always use the most recent version of Java available to you. I agree with you though that having a 'system requirements' page stating specifically what versions of Java are too old to be compatible would be helpful.

"we support all OS's"
Seriously? Even Mac OS 7, 8 or 9? Or Windows 3.1?
I'm running Mac OS 10.4.11 (Tiger), which is presumably supported, but Moneydance is virtually unusable on my system because of a bug that causes misalignment between the transaction/check # menu and the cursor. I am running Java: 1.5.0_19, which is not the latest version of Java, but is the highest version available for Tiger. If this combination of OS+Java is not compatible with Moneydance, and if you had posted this information, I could have avoided wasting several of my hours trying to troubleshoot this problem and posting to Support. But I don't know for sure, and it isn't clear whether Moneydance knows either.

Mark,
Yes, point taken. I wasn't considering very old OS's. Your suggestion is a good one.
