Tools: Loan Calculator

Amongst other things, this calculator has a field for NUMBER OF YEARS. It consists of a drop-down menu with periods from 1 to 45 years.

This is not entirely helpful for working out an accurate repayment schedule (bearing in mind that this calculator may not exactly mirror the bank's method of calculating the loan).

Would it be possible to change this field so that one can input a number of choice. For example, I have a mortgage against which I have made some lump-sum payments and adjusted the repayments. However, the term for this loan falls between 1 and 2 years but I cannot show this in this calculator.

A change would be useful.

    I certainly see how that could be helpful. I've created a suggestion ticket and attached it to this thread, by commenting on this thread it counts as a vote in support of implementation.

    I too would find this useful. I have often kludged the loan calculator: divided the APR by 12, entered number of months instead of years, and entered 1 for payments per year. Obviously this would be much easier if MD just allowed me to enter number of months.
