Is it possible to have an option to turn off the sub totals in a net worth report? I copy the report to a spread sheet and the way I use the info I have to manually delete the sub totals in order to get what I need.

    Hi jrduke1,
It appears the only way to do so is to uncheck 'Include security balances'.

    Thanks Kevin,
I don't have that checked. What I need is to be able to eliminate all subtotals for all accounts in the net worth report. Is this the right place to ask the developers to add an option?

    Hi Jerry,
That's odd. I only get subtotals when I have that option checked. Unchecked I get the Account and the Amount only.
If you don't mind me asking, what is it that you're trying to create in the spreadsheet?

All that check box does is show balances for my individual stocks. Unchecked I still get sub totals for my bank accounts, and credit accounts.

I have a trust A and a trust B in the spread sheet. I total the A and B columns. The total is way off with sub totals added in. As a result I have to manually delete all of the sub totals to get the correct bottom line.

    Hi Jerry,
Are you using MD2011? The latest build is currently (791)
Maybe the reports act differently in different builds.
I'm using (788) because 'Automatically Merge Downloaded Transactions' in Preferences is disabled in (791).
I can't think of any other reason why the reports would act differently.

Can you show me a screen shot of what you get when you run the net worth report.

Also can you select Help->Console Window and copy and paste the output to this discussion.

Here's a thought: Do you have parent/child accounts? I notice that those get subtotaled in the report.

Yes, I do have parent/ child accounts. The sub totals that show up in the net worth report are the onex I would like to have an option to be omitted from the report. It's the parent/child accounts that causes the sub totals to show up. Of corse there isn't any sub total if all accounts are individual.

I''m reluctant to send a screen shot. If you set up accounts as parent/child you will see what I mean.

I am afraid there is no way to turn of subtotals for parent child accounts in the Net worth report. All parent accounts effectively have two balances - the sum of the transactions that are directly in the parent register and the recursive sum of all children plus the parent. I have created a suggestion ticket in our issue tracking system proposing that an option be added to disable subtotalling however I think it is unlikely to get implemented.

I am sorry that this does not meet your needs.

    Sincerely
