Handling transfers between currencies better
The main reason I researched and found MoneyDance was its multiple-currency handling. Now that I have adopted it (after 15 years on Quicken), I have found a lot more to like (I will post a separate "praise" item on this soon). However, there is an important gap in this key functionality of multiple currency support. I live and financially funciton in two countries (U.S. and Canada), and may someday add Europe to the mix.
I have multiple accounts in both US$ and CAD$, but most of my income is still earned in the US. So I frequently transfer money from a US$ account to a CAD$ account. When I do that, the receiving bank reports the rate at which I bought that chunk of money. I make sure MD records that rate properly for the transfer.
NOW, since my base currency is US$, all my expense categories are in US$. So, subsequent CAD$ purchases using that transferred money, are reconverted to US$ in the expense categories-- all good! However, MD uses the currency rate on the day of the expenditure to set the "Cost" of that purchase in US$, the base currency. This is NOT the true cost to me, in my base currency! The real cost is the ORIGINAL purchase rate when I brought the money into Canada.
SO, I would like to have a preference option in MD to have those expense account conversions done at the most recent rate for an inbound deposit to the account where the expense occurs. So the currency rate would not be looked up and change every day, as it does now, but would remain frozen at the last "purchase" rate, until a new deposit occurred or the original transfer was used up.
Really and essentially, this is just like lot accounting for the cost-basis of investments. You implement that for investments, it would be great to have it for FOREX management as well. Perhaps the same underlying data structures and code could be adapted to this.

Thank you for your suggestions for improvements to Moneydance. I have passed on your suggestion to our developer who will consider it for our next release. I have also created a Trac ticket for this item, which can be found here http://moneydance.com/trac/ticket/1893
Our wiki is integrated with our feature request and bug reporting system. Please feel free to use these systems to help improve Moneydance by bringing bugs to our attention and requesting new features. You can also add a "me too" message to an existing ticket, which helps us determine which requests have the most demand.
