Memos on split transactions

Is there any specific reason that splits don't allow memos? It's really inconvenient to have to put a "comment" with the payee on splits to indicate what I what have put in the memo portion.

I understand that the question is then raised what goes into the memo portion of the register when only the transaction is visible, not its splits... two possibilities are the word "Split...", or perhaps just the first split of the transaction might have its memo put there. Personally, on a split, I don't care that much, but I DO care that the split information is crippled.

   I agree too. It's not more data but rearranging it. I would also like to see an optional column to include cheque number if required.

   Totally agree. Would be super helpful if the export has description and memo on a single line instead of multi line!!
