manually update security history / current price
When I need to manually update the current price of a fund, what I've been doing is: - in the "Currency / Security History" window - click "new" - it adds a line for today's date and I manually change the price there.
But that does not update the "Current Price" field for that security and I need to manually edit that as well. My suggestion is that MD should automatically update Current Price to the most current price added to the history.
I recently found that if I - in the "Currency / Security History" window - update the "Current Price" - click "new"
Then MD adds a new history entry with today's date at the new price. This scenario works fine. Maybe the 1st scenario is not the right way to do it, but that was not obvious to me, and it could work a little better as I suggested.
Minor suggestion for a great product. Thanks!

This sounds similar to ticket 1106 (http://trac.moneydance.com/trac/ticket/1106).

Hi Joe
Indeed the intended method of manually editing the current price of a security is as you described i.e. change the price in the "Current Price" field of the "Currency / Security History" window and then clicking "New".
In previous versions clicking "New" and then entering the price did effect the "Current Price" however people complained that this was undesirable. Presumably because they were adding new prices for dates earlier than that of the current price.
I'm sorry that the documentation was not more complete on this topic.
Sincerely
Ben Spencer
