Hi,

I'd love to be able to configure which accounts are used to calculate the Net Worth amount on the homepage.

I use the homepage as a 'dashboard' to see how we are doing but I also track my kids' accounts within the same file. I'd like to exclude these accounts. I suggest this as a feature more than two years ago (see bug trac issue 856 under sohojoe) and it was assigned to MD2007 and later to MD2008. Will this feature happen? If so, I'd love to know so I can move on to another program/service. if it get's added, I wouldn't mind a paid update =)

Thanks in advance. I love the app and this is the last feature I need to be 100% happy. Thanks in advance!

    Hi

We receive a great many requests for changes and additional features and we do not have the resources to implement them all. We recently added a voting feature to the trac site to give us a better way of prioritising what we implement next based on te number of users who want it. If you log in to trac you can vote on this ticket by clicking the ip arrow to the right of the ticket name.

I spoke with the developer about the possibility of this feature making it into MD2009 and he said "Please encourage a vote. I did promise to improve lots of the graphs/reports, so I should be able to do that."

    Sincerely

    Ben Spencer

    Hi Ben,

Similar to this, I have always thought that it would be useful to define a 'set' of accounts for reporting purposes. This could be used for the net worth report as sohojoe suggests or other reports such as income/expenses. I know I would find it helpful in separating accounts held in different countries or looking at reports from a his/hers/ours perspective.

    Greetings,

I am a Linux user who has been using Quicken (under Wine) for a number of years. I've been looking for a Linux replacement for some time now. I just discovered Moneydance, and I must say that I am quite impressed. I am also VERY pleased that it runs natively!

Being able to exclude accounts from the networth calculation seems like one of the few Quicken functions that is missing from the 2010 version. Is this request still in development, or is there some setting that I have overlooked?

    Thanx.

    Rich

As far as I can tell, it is still missing from MD 2010. They've suggested I either run a net worth report or keep separate data files. Neither is solution, to me, seems like a good alternative since it doesn't makes the MD dashboard less useful to me.

I'm still hoping they fix it.

PS I've since bought another finance program for Mac called iBank that solves this issue for me. That program is really great but I still prefer MD. I hope that MD to adds this feature someday. When they do, I'll be happy to become a MD user again.

I agree - this is a major improvement that doesn't seem to be very difficult. It's definitely something I am looking for in a financial software program.

I agree, tt would be nice if all reports could be run against a pre-defined set of accounts, including the home page.
