Securities Detail window - Remember column widths
Hi MD Support,
Moneydance 2015.8 (1369)
Windows 10 Home 64-bit
I'm not sure if there is an existing ticket for this already.
In the upper left-hand quadrant of the Securities Detail window there is the table of txns relevant to the displayed security.
The width of each column in the table is adjustable and will retain their fixed width throughout the session.
However, upon restart the column widths are returned to the default.
Could you look into a means for those column widths to be remembered beyond the current session?
TIA,
-Kevin N.

Hi Kevin,
To change the column widths in your 'Securities Details' window you should be able to drag the dividers between the columns names in the column headers to change the width of the columns. The cursor will not change when hovering over these dividers (as you might expect), however the action should work. However, as you have seen, when restarted Moneydance can't currently retain these widths settings.
There is an existing suggestion ticket for this feature to be added to Moneydance in our system. I've attached the ticket to this discussion and will pass your feedback to the developers. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

I came here to report exactly this problem. By default, whenever I open Moneydance the securities details window shows only the least significant digits of price and amount, so for example a price "212399" and amount of ",025.77" which when you move the column dividers becomes "35.212399" and "54,025.77". You have to resize four columns every time you go into Moneydance, if you want to be able to see the data properly (I'm using Moneydance 2017.)

+1 for this request. annoying that the columns do not at least dynamically resize - a massive "action" column with lots of white space and all the critical fields like shares, price and amount are squeezed and unreadable. It is especially annoying when you change to a windows split screen for investment analysis etc

Hi Kevin,
Thanks for bringing this suggested change back to our attention. I have raised this Sean and he has indicated that this shouldn't be difficult to implement. As always, I am unable to provide a timescale for the this but it is definitely on Sean's radar and has confirmed he will be looking into this.
I'll be sure to let you know when this change has been made.

Hi Ian O,
Thank you for talking to Sean about this issue.
I only 'bumped' this so as to reopen the thread. I'm glad it caught your eye. :)
Thanks again.

I would second this, it is a continual source of annoyance to have to repeatedly resize the columns every time you want to see the detail.

Hi All,
Column widths in the Securities Detail table are now remembered in the latest preview build (currently 2017.6 1648)
