Income and Expenses, Detailed.
I believe it would be useful to allow creating a report "by Payee"or "By Description. I use "Description" for Payee, but suspect that many/most people do. A previously used program had this function and I used it quite frequently.

Hi Terry,
You may be able to generate the data you need with the 'Transactions' report. In this report you can either use 'All accounts'. Alternatively, you can uncheck the 'All Account' check box at the top, and then select either the specific account or category you'd like to use in the field below. Then set the subtotal option to 'subtotal by payee'.
If this doesn't generate the information you need, can you let me know whats missing, and I'll let you know if there is another suitable report.
You may also wish to go to Edit --> Advanced Find, where you can search for transactions using specific fields.

Thank you Ian. Those are both good workarounds. I had tinkered in 'Transaction Filter’ previously with some success. I had not tried the advanced search; an excellent workaround.
Maybe I’m a one-of, but as an example, I shop at three different Grocery stores (description) and sometimes pay by cash or Visa or Debit… I’m anally retentive enough that I split categories to meat, fish, produce, dairy, canned goods and in the memos I note price per XXXX. So if I want a report that easy to see if one store is more expensive than the other…. I know I can create separate reports and export to a spreadsheet, but if I could do it within MD, I would.
Thanks again

Hello. I have been making use of the work-arounds you provided, but remain convinced that it would be a useful upgrade to make selections available within Income or expensed - detailed.
It would also be a great improvement to subtotal by month. For example, All accounts, category (groceries perhaps), date range XXXXXX, subtotal by month or week or….
