Importing files from SeeFinance 2.0
Hello
Thinking in switching to Moneydance I wonder if files from SeeFinance 2.0 might be imported to your software.
Thanks in advance for your comments and support.
Carlos

I am not support staff, just a user.
If the QIF file that Seefinance can export contains a full set of data you should be able to import it into Moneydance. I transferred from MS Money.
Try it out for yourself.
Download from https://infinitekind.com/download-moneydance-personal-finance-software
Downloaded version of Moneydance is a full working version with the only limit being a maximum of 100 manually entered transactions, with no time limit. Imported files from other financial programs and your bank have no limit on imports. If you decided to purchase you are sent a key by email that unlocks the 100-manual transaction limit. If after testing with this free trial version you purchase and change your mind see the 90 day money back guaranty at https://infinitekind.com/refunds
For the future Moneydance never sunsets the version it releases. So, you don’t have to upgrade. If you won’t to upgrade the next version is free (say 2015 to 2017) and from then on you get a 50% discount. All upgrades within a version are free.
To transfer data from you need to export a QIF file, you can't import Seefinance files directly. See the set of articles relating to this topic at http://help.infinitekind.com/kb/importing-data-from-other-programs. When you follow the steps in the article above make sure you follow the steps accurately, in particular, make sure you specify to Import into a new account rather than an existing account. Also make sure you set the source to "From another program".
It is highly recommended to export all data into a single QIF file, as doing so makes the import process much smoother. After importing into Moneydance, highlight an account, click on ACCOUNT – EDIT ACCOUNT and check the “Initial Balance”. Do this for each account.
For general information see http://help.infinitekind.com/kb
If you have specific issues give as much detail as you can and support or others will answer your questions.
Hope this helps.

Hi derekkent23,
Thanks a lot for your time in giving me so detailed answer that I am sure it will help me to move to Moneydance. SeeFinance has the possibility to export to QIF file and I will follow your instructions to do it. I will come back to you with the result, it will take me some weeks but I will try it.
You mentioned that you moved from MS Money. I am a former user of the MS Money and I would like to ask you how do you see Moneydance when compared to Money. Thanks again, and sorry for my english what is not my mother language, as you probably already guessed.
Take care

MS Money is probably more flexible when editing reminders (Bills in MS Money) as you can edit individual instances in a series. Graphs looked more professional in MS Money and there are one or two reports not available in Moneydance, e.g. price history for Securities.
I am a windows user, but Moneydance runs on Windows, Mac and Linux computers with a data set that is compatible to all three operating systems. Makes it future prof if you want a new computer with a different operating system. Manually updating security prices is easier in Moneydance and it support multiple currencies. Security prices and exchange rates can be updated automatically free from Alpha Vantage. However, as an investor in UK and European funds I find Alpha Vantage has poor coverage. I use a free stand-alone program that was developed for MS Money and now adapted by its developer hleOfxQuotes to work with Moneydance. Moneydance is a hard drive-based program, I don’t like cloud-based programs, but you can still sync your encrypted data to other computers and mobile devices such as Android phones and iPhones. The Apps for these are free. All in all, I am very happy with Moneydance but still run MS Money in parallel. As Moneydance unlike MS Money is still being supported and features added I feel safer using it. With MS Money there always a change that Microsoft will make a change to windows and Money will stop working.
Hope his helps
