Accounts???
I am using the demo version. I am considering transitioning from Quicken to Money Dance. Questions:
- How do I create additional "Parent Accounts"
- How do I change Banking to be a Parent Account
- how to all checking accounts listed together and the saving accounts
Basically I want accounts organized similar to Quicken.

I'm a fellow user.
I will try to answer some of your questions.
1. You do not create parent accounts rather you create an account and set it up as a child account of another.
2. The heading of "Banking" refers to an account type, it is not an account.
3. Moneydance follows ASCII sorting rules so you name the accounts so they appear in the order you want.

just a user,
I'll add to what dwg was saying.
There are some reasons you may want to create "parent" categories to contain other categories that are related. For instance, I created a "Credit Card" category and added all my credit card accounts under that category so I could group them on the side panel.

Thank you for the advise. Yes I would want additional "Parent" categories.
