importing from quicken for mac
I have tried importing from quicken for mac. I have a checking and a brokerage on quicken. It appears quicken will only export the checking. I can get the brokerage account data into a csv excel file. Is there any way to upload to money dance from a csv file
Thanks
If I could get quicken to export the brokerage account that would work, but that is a quicken problem. any insight would be appreciated

It is not possible to import a CSV file into an investment account in Moneydance.
Could you tell me the exact name and version of Quicken you are using?

Thank you for getting back to me
I have my merrill lynch account set up in quicken, It is a brokerage account( but really a checking account). I want to import this account history. When I do the export it will not bring over the brokerage data only another account that is labeled as a checking account. However the brokerage data will export into a csv file.
I think my next approach is to try downloading form merrill lynch
any suggestions are appreciated

Are you using the export to .QMTF file and then rename as QIF trick? Or does your version of Quicken support directly exporting to QIF?

Yes I export to the .qtmf file, but it only picks up my checking account not my brokerage account(which is also a checking account). I cannot locate a parameter to select accounts
I am so impressed thanks

The QTFM format doesn't fully support investment accounts. As far as I know it is not possible to transfer investment accounts from Quicken 2016 to Moneydance. Quicken used to have an export to QIF option to export all accounts but they removed this in 2015.

Ok I can export from Merrill Lynch to Quicken mac or pc, microsoft money or spreadsheets and text. I tried downloading as a quicken mac file and changed the file extension to a qif and that did not import, any other suggestions how to get data from merrill lynch to money dance

Microsoft Money files are OFX (Open Financial Exchange) files. These are by far the best format. I suggest giving that a try.
