How can I get dates in international format instead of US?

There is a selection of date formats under FILE (MONEYDANCE on Mac) – PREFERENCES - DATE FORMAT dropdown.

Thanks for help. Not very impressive software design - the app knew my
location, Australia, and could intelligently have defaulted to ddmmyy
instead of mmddyy.
