I've been a Quicken user for over 10 yrs or so and they recently disabled some functionality that I relied on. They had a BillMinder app that would pop up whenever i would start Windows and notify me of any bills that needed to be paid. I'm looking to switch to something else that has this type of functionality. Does Moneydance have the ability to show reminders when Windows is first started or do I have to open Moneydance to see the reminders? I don't want to open Moneydance if I don't have to, only when i need to.

    I'm a fellow user.

If I recall correctly Billminder is a separate program that starts when your computer does and pulls information out of your Quicken data file to be able to display upcoming bills.

With Moneydance you have to start the software to see the reminders. The Moneydance data is encrypted with the option of a user set password so running something at start up time has the potential to require the entry of another password.
