I have bought a new mac and purchased Moneydance as do not want to stay with Quicken (no longer supported in UK and cnt load the software onto the new mac). I have done a backup in Quicken on my old mac, transferred the file on a USB drive to the new mac. On launching Moneydance it says I can import the data from Quicken Essentials, but it does not seem to work, as it does not recognise the Quicken data file.
I have also exported the data on quicken, which it has done as a.qxf file (didnt give me the option of .qif, not sure if its the same thing).
What would be the best route for importing the data into Moneydance?
Attached is an image showing the 2 files I have created.
Thanks for your help.

    Hello,

Your attachment did not come through, but I think you described the situation well enough. QXF and QIF files are not the same thing. You will need to export your data in the QIF format, as Moneydance cannot directly read Quicken backup files. That's a proprietary file format, owned and licensed by Quicken. Full instructions on importing can be found at: https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/kb/importing-data-from-other-pro...

Are you certain there is no option to export in the QIF format? Which version of Quicken are you coming from?
