Hi, I thought I had successfully imported QIF data into Moneydance from a file on my thumbdrive plugged into my new MacBook Air laptop. But when I remove the thumbdrive from my new laptop, the data goes away in Moneydance. When I open Moneydance none of my data is populated. Why? and how do I correct this?

It sounds like you created your data set on the thumb drive, rather than on the hard disk, once imported into Moneydance the QIF is no longer required by Moneydance and assuming the created data set is on the hard disk what happens to the thumb drive should be irrelevant..
